Mandate & statutory basis
The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO/CKO) regulates the profession of kinesiology under the Kinesiology Act, 2007, S.O. 2007, c. 10, Sched. O, and the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, S.O. 1991, c. 18 (RHPA) (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/07k10; https://www.pas.gov.on.ca/Home/Agency/272). Roles, responsibilities & scope

Under the RHPA's controlled-acts framework (s.27(2)), Council has set rules on when a kinesiologist may accept delegation of a controlled act from another regulated health professional (https://coko.ca/coko-resources/practice-advice-scope-of-practice/). Institutional history
COKO was incorporated without share capital as an Ontario not-for-profit organization on June 4, 2007, with its statutory authority set out in the RHPA (COKO Annual Report 2024-25, Note 1, https://coko.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/COKO-Annual-Report-2024-25-AR_final.pdf). A Transitional Council operated in the College's earliest years, evidenced by a registered "Transitional Council COKO Annual Report 2010-2011" (this library's government-document registry row on-council-college-kinesiologists-ontario-ar-2011).
