Don Valley West covers Leaside, Bennington Heights, Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park (part), Lawrence Park (part, east of Yonge), the Bridle Path, and Wanless Park — a wide-ranging ward from dense high-rise apartment towers (Thorncliffe Park) to some of Toronto's most expensive low-rise streets. Its biggest recent civic change is transit: the Eglinton Crosstown (Line 5) opened in February 2026, serving Leaside with three stations (including Laird), after a century in which the area's rail connections were mostly industrial.
