This is a provincial race — the office is Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough Southwest, run under Elections Ontario’s rules, not the City of Toronto’s.

How this riding relates to the ward — and a common mix-up to avoid. The *provincial* riding of Scarborough Southwest and the City of Toronto’s Ward 20 have shared the same boundaries since 2018, per Wikipedia’s sourced riding history — unlike the Beaches–East York/Ward 19 pair, where the federal riding and the ward are close but not identical. One thing worth flagging plainly: there is *also* a **federal** riding called “Scarborough Southwest” (currently held by Liberal MP Doly Begum, who won it in an April 2026 federal by-election), and its boundaries changed in the 2023 federal redistribution — so the federal riding, the provincial riding, and the ward all carry the same or similar names but are not guaranteed to be the same map. As of August 17, 2026, this project's public organization registry maps 110 organizations directly to Ward 20 (Scarborough Southwest) — corrected the same day from the 31 this brief first stated, by a registry-wide fix to the tag-format-fragmentation bug named below: the public ward pages had been reading only the single canonical `"Ward 20 (Scarborough Southwest)"` tag spelling and silently missing every alternate format the registry's own geography join (`org_placements.csv`) already resolves. Of the 31, 16 were from earlier passes, plus 15 new from the ward sweep program's first wave, which took the deeper by-election-era area sweep below and individually checked each organization's own address against the actual Ward 20 council boundary. Scarborough Southwest is one of two Toronto wards where the provincial riding and the council ward share the same four boundary lines, so most rows carried straight across — but not all: a handful of names scoped to a wider Scarborough-wide catchment than the ward itself were held back rather than assumed in, on the same address-level standard applied everywhere else in this program. The remaining 79 organizations behind today's 110 total are principally bulk City/CRA register rows whose tag format the sweep's own count did not yet recognize; 18 of the 110 carry `verified-live` status, the rest `seed-web-verified`.

• Kennedy Station's and Eglinton GO Station's precise inclusion within Ward 20's polygon is stated from general geography (both sit directly on the Eglinton Avenue East boundary line) — not a verified point-in-polygon check. Flagged, not asserted as precise, matching the pilot brief's treatment of a comparably ambiguous station.
• Eglinton Crosstown LRT (Line 5) current in-service status for the Golden Mile/Eglinton East segment was not independently confirmed; a direct fetch of the TTC's Line 5 page returned no usable content, and the secondary-plan sources used (§3-4) describe the line as an anticipated catalyst without stating a current operational date.
